Flag Retirement Ceremony at
Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park

Eli, a Children of the American Revolution and son of member Renee Hooks presented a Constitution week poster and handed out preamble cards to his class room this morning.

SAR Honor Guard presented the tattered USA Flag to be Retired to the DAR team to cut the strips away from the Field of Blue. Each strip and the Field of Blue were each burned separately while descriptive narration was being read by Chaplain Boswell.

Members of Abraham Baldwin and members of the Carrollton organizing chapter Children of the American Revolution received a Constitution proclamation from the city of Villa Rica. Member Dr Nancy Mimms was given the privilege of reading the proclamation to the city.

Flag Day   

Alice Robinson and George Wheeless with Steve Graddick as they were discussing Flag Day which is June 14th. They focused on the history of the flag, proper use of the flag, and flag etiquette as well as myths concerning the flags history

Tom and Tina Clune are shown with the D-Day Flag flown at Normandy Beach on D-day, June 6, 1944. The flag was gifted to Tom by Ed Kent, who served in the 44th Battalion, 4th infantry which came ashore on D-Day.
